Many of the
sites at this award winning KOA are
shaded pull-thrus. Each site has a
picnic table with a full hook-up or
water and electric service. Some
sites are ‘back-in’ with 50 amp
service and a full hook up; several
pull-thrus have 50 amp service with
water/electric only.
A reservation
is not required but is advised,
particularly in March & April, the
campground’s busiest months. A
reservation requires a major credit
card to hold your site until your
arrival. This KOA has resident
owners and employee couples to offer
the peace of mind and sense of
security so important to guests.
Enjoy the quiet
beauty of this lovely KOA located in
the heart of the South Carolina
Lowcountry, where Lord Proprietors
of England laid claim to the Land
inhabited by the Indian in 1689. The
antebellum era echoes in the
surrounding plantations, historic
ruins and churches…and the ancient
rhythmic sounds of Gullah whisper a
dying language.
Plan to visit
the nearby historic "Frampton House"
with a tourist information center,
gift shop and small museum. General
Sherman torched the old plantation
house during his ‘march to the sea’
but the gentry rebuilt it in 1868.
While there, see the remains of
General Robert E. Lee's 'earthen
fort' works behind the Frampton
house.
Two charming spots likely to evoke
the smell of Rhett Butler's cigar
are 'Beaufort', South Carolina,
twenty miles, east and 'Savannah',
Georgia less than an hours drive
from the KOA. Retrace Indian trails
and the Colonial days of the 'Kings
Highway' as you travel 70 minutes
along Route 17 to the 'Jewel of the
South'.. Civil War's.. Charleston,
South Carolina.
