The SAVANNAH CABOOSE

Imagine sleeping in an actual ‘Railroad Caboose!’ It’s a family memory the children will never forget! The caboose is named for a favorite neighboring city, Savannah, Georgia ~ which General W. T. Sherman conquered during the Civil War. Swayed by the city’s beauty & charm, rather than setting a torch to it as with so many southern towns, he sent a wire to President Lincoln and presented to him the town of Savannah as a ‘Christmas present.’

This charming red railroad caboose sets on a real railroad track. Once inside you will be delighted with cable TV, a small refrigerator plus heat/air conditioning. It sleeps six, and the two sets of bunk beds and full size bed are separated by five feet, bay windows & a privacy curtain. It is just across the drive from the bath house. As with all Point South’s ‘Cabins’ there is a grill, water tap & picnic table on the site.  Don’t forget to bring your linens, as they are not provided.
